Here are two really nice coins I got in the past few days. 1936 Italy 10 lire and 1910 Mexico 1 peso. 1910 mexico 1 peso.jpg 1936 italy 10 lire.jpg

A 2017 Silver Krugerrand that I just got in. It was in a mint sealed box, but was out of the capsule and loose in the box. The photo description mentions unrelated issues that have nothing to do with it rolling around in the box during shipping.

I was bidding on something in an overseas auction and picked these up. One of my all time favorite coin designs, the double hoo (Japanese phoenix) 50 sen. I put a lowball (to me) bid on this lot...none of them are completely gem/perfect but all have a nice look and show the variety of toning these come in.

I also did the same on a couple of Peace dollars. None were what I was shopping for, but as long as I won my primary objective it was worth dropping the low bids on a few other lots too as the shipping was otherwise covered.

    My prime interest:

I mean, where else will I get a nice Albanian coin but an auction in Japan :D?

Correct attribution, and what's amazing is that they sell for close to melt some 23 centuries after striking.

I'm with you there. I think I paid $9 which is just crazy.

I bought it on ebay. I forgot to mention in the original post that this is the Proof version of the coin and is not the typical Premium Uncirculated that is normally seen.

I've expanded my Hungarian type set to include the early Hungarian People's Republic (Magyar Népköztársaság) issues from 1949-1956.

For this addition to my typeset, since they are relatively modern and available in gem grades, I'm only going for first-year dates with a minimum acceptable grade of MS65. Here are a couple new additions to this set (this set so far also includes the MS67 1950BP 10 Fillér pattern and raw 1950BP 2 Forint pattern I posted the other week).

    Hungary 50 Fillér 1953BP NGC MS66
    KM-551 (1953-1966)
    Aluminum 1.4g, 22.2mm x 1.6mm

    50_Filler.jpg
A beautiful art deco design with the iconic blacksmith on the obverse. This design was also used for the KM-536 1948BP 50 Fillér, and the KM-551a Copper-Nickel 50 Fillér proofs of 1966-1967.

    Hungary 2 Forint 1950BP NGC MS67
    KM-548 (1950-1952)
    Copper-Nickel 4.90g, 24.8mm x 1.3mm

    2_Forint.jpg
This is the business strike version of the pattern I acquired last week. Only minor revisions were made between the pattern and this business strike, most noticeably was the increase to the size of the star, which in the pattern was smaller like on the 1948 1 Forint issue.

Another recent Albanian NEWP. I'm running out of find-able Zog coins, so now I'm nibbling at the Italian Occupation.

This one is more deeply toned than I generally go for--I like toning in general, and this one turned out to be much nicer in hand.

RARE 1879 sovereign (St. George) London mint.....mintage of only 20,013 and very few survived. Only 24 graded by both PCGS and NGC and none over 58. I reckon this is about a VF 30-35. I'm quite pleased...;)

This is the last coin I needed for my Mexican 50 centavos collection. It took a long time to find one. There are two varieties for this date and this is the rarer one. 1918 mexico 50 centavos large.jpg

    Thanks.

Yes it's a GB coin and London mint which minted very few coins that year as most 1879 sovereigns were minted in Australia.

Snagged this one today. Even with cleaning scratches, I'm happy to have it. Mintage of 16,000.

The China Panda 1 oz Bullion series started in 1989 with this coin

This is not a new acquisition, I've had it for years. It has a low mintage of 255,000.

This is my latest. 2015 was the last year the Panda had 1 oz. Silver. After that they are 30g. This should be a good coin to keep.

A new Bullion coin with no announced mintage. It has a weird crinkled and marbled finish which I did't capture very well. the coin is designed to be stackable. I really like the Owl design.
