2016 SHAWNEE DD

Searching a box of Quarters and came across this 2016 SHAWNEE DD. You can see it on the word "QUARTER". Has anyone else found one?

That one is pretty intense. I'll be interested to see if the gurus here call it MD or DDD or some other initial.

 

I'd call it die deterioration doubling and not a doubled die.

 

Thanks, I'm a bit new to this. I haven't seen an example of one like it.

 

Thanks to 19Lyds I have found a couple more, I kept looking for it as a DD.

Little bit weird you have new member, but yet you joined in 2015. I would hardly call that be in a new member. Even though it seems you haven't participated that much. Here's one of my thread you may be interested in Since This doubling only occurs on a single strike.

After talking to one of the leading expert in repairing and refurbishing the presses that come from the mint. He basically says there are many factors that can cause this kind of doubling.
So Kentucky you can pick anyone you'd like because it could be any one of those.

You know Jakek1978 That's why keep picking up any change I may find on the ground, you never know when Your luck is gonna change and your going to find something good. Or like when a waitress gives you a nice homestead snow on the roof in change. I still have problems Crossing my toes. LOL USMC60
