Haven't had much luck lately. I won't bore you with the details. But, I did find a 100 year old coin today in 20 CWRs.

Awesome. Been slogging through pennies myself and just found a 1917 yesterday as well! Cheers!

I drew blanks on the latest two white machine wrapped rolls. But I'm burning through those to get to the customer wrapped rolls.

Very nice haul for only 6-rolls. Must have been a collection dump. If these were CWR then go back to the bank and get CWR of nice, dimes, qtrs, halves, for old silver.

I have 18 rolls that I'm going to trade in in Livingston.
That way I won't get the same coins again.

The point of his post was to get higher denominations. Lots of wheats could mean silver too.

I mark all of the rolls I bring to the bank, just a little line on the paper. All of the tellers know my rolls and will give me fresh ones.

They like my rolls, as they are always the correct count and always 100% US coins.

Great finds! Wild on the proof find! Usually they're clad ones. Cool!

I found a 2006S 90% silver proof a few months back. That's two in the Wild for me.

Tonight I found this coin in a roll of bank rolled cents. The obverse is almost entirely smooth and the reverse has some chunks of debris adhered to it. As I photographed it to put it up here for you guys to see, I saw crackling on the obverse side and then I thought: Wait a minute!!! I turned it over and examined the reverse again through the camera and saw the red stuff. Then it dawned on me: Caked-up blood and guts?!? Or is it something less dramatic? IMG_3195.JPG

The second 'find' I made tonight occurred as I was organizing a bit and searching through a bag of cents I had labeled "to review." It is play money - but still, it has doubled die marks on the obverse. Check out the IGWT, where the date would normally be and LIBERTY. But what really cracked me up was that there is doubling on the entire profile as well. Mint errors when making play money? That's just silly.

I did get one war nickel out out the 4 rolls I had a week or so ago. But besides the bumpy 1985 and some CLD 82 it's been a dry spell. Going to try and change my luck today. Two different banks I haven't used yet.

The more banks you hit, the better... particularly when it comes to nickels as there isn't as much demand for them from merchants as cents, dimes, and quarters. You can end up with coins that have been in their vaults for years if you keep hitting them.

Alright People, let's get fired up for the weekend. I got four boxes of halves coming in today. Whichever denomination you love to hunt, good luck!
