BONANZA ROLL SEARCH. About fell off my chair. Each of 6 roll had 12 to 16 wheats.
    85 Lincoln wheats total between 1936 to1958. Some in very goos shape. There were a 36, 38, 40 (2), 41 (2), 42 (7), 44 (9), 45 (8), 46 (3), 47 (3), 49, 50 (2), 51 (7), 52 (7), 53 (3), 54 (7), 55 (9), 56 (5), 57 (5), 58 (3).
Bottom row has an unc 53, unc 45, nice 57, unc 47 and nice 56.
Went to the bank again today and picked up 5 more rolls. Fingers crossed for more finds. 20170502_232527.jpg 20170502_232632.jpg

As I understand the mint process I figure what I'm looking at don't mean anything.

I see what might be a cud at about 10.
There is a pretty big blob between t and y and a little blob above the right fork of the y.
There is a pretty big blob on Lincolns shoulder.
And a dot between the blob and his tie.

Definitely something but technically speaking, that may not be a cud. But it's still cool. Nice find.

I've been doing well of late. Found a second 1939-D nickel recently (and yes, like the first, it has about a 15 degree reverse die rotation), and this past week found an amazing cud on a nickel along with 1935-S and 1936-D Lincolns, bringing me within 2 coins of completing my Lincoln Short Set (1934-date) without varieties. I'm now only missing the 1938-D & 1939-D wheats.

Nice finds! I'm doing the Jefferson whitmans from the wild so I can appreciate the satisfaction in paying face value to plug the holes and complete a set. HH!

It's a cool endeavor for sure... 30 years ago I completed a Jefferson set from the wild over a 2 1/2 year span as a cashier at a fast food place - a beat up 1950-D was the clincher in 1987...

I am currently one coin away from completing two more sets from CRH... I have found everything but that pesky 1950-D.

IMG_0008.JPG IMG_0008.JPG IMG_0007.JPG IMG_0006.JPG Going through quarters tonight and couple oddities. On Kansas quarter is that damaging from loomis around the rim? Then on Chickasaw not sure it is would be mint damage or post mint damage near the birds.

On the first it looks like how most of my Nickel enders from loomis are. I only say loomis because they deliver to a 7-Eleven I pick up rolls at often, but they deliver NotFine String rolls not the loomis rolls I've seen pics of. Could be a territory thing. Baltimore isn't far from Harrisburg.

Is a Franklin ender a "Fender" or a "Bender"? I always forget... ;-)

Besides the bumpy penny I posted above I found a nice 1996P to replace the bad reverse I had. 3 more decent 82D CLD, an 82P CLD and an 82D ZLD. If the 82s aren't pretty clean after making sure they are large date they go back in the roll.

Sigh. I look at date first. Then for any sign of cud or other bumps. The general condition of Lincoln. Any OBVIOUS sign of double die (though most of it is too subtle for me) then look at the reverse for anything obvious. Have a whole roll of 82D CLD. And have pretty much blanked out on the last three rolls.
