I am in the market for a 2008 Australian 1 oz. Silver Koala MS70. Any idea where I can find one that is for sale? Thanks.
I could also look for a MS 70. does it have to be NGC or PCGS ? and if I find 1 how much would you pay for it ?
I know 2 dealers that deal with koala's, and all other silver collected there in Las Vegas. just not sure if they are slabbed MS70 ?
Either PCGS or NGC will do. I will have to get back to you in terms of the price. Thanks for checking.
The NGC population is currently at 183. So it might be hard to find, but not impossible. Keep looking on ebay, Apmex, and MCM. One recently sold on ebay on April 15. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/3119960-001/70/
these just say gem BU. ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...2008+koala.TRS0&_nkw=2008+koala&_sacat=177653
Thanks. They were among my first stops. No luck this time around. Thanks. I will keep looking. Thanks. Very interesting find. No luck yet, but like the fact that they have all silver coins listed there.
Usually the ones that say "Gem BU" are coins that were under MS 69. On the submission form (especially for dealers), one can request that any coin grading below a certain point (like MS 68 or lower) be placed in this type of holder. Now some of these coins might regrate as MS 70s, but the chances are not high. Still plenty of nice coins can be bought like this since the difference between an MS 68 and MS 70 Koala may be virtually indiscernible.
