You didn't disagree with everyone! I said the same thing!! In fact I would even go for the dime over a nice 1909-S IHC! Lets take a quick look at the NGC pop report... 1909-S VDB ----4254 1909-S IHC ----1385 1916-D Dime --1583 And this is just NGC---I wonder how many PCGS has graded of each coin?! Speedy
1909 S VDB 8902 1916 D dime 3499 Two things go into a coins value - the supply and the demand. The 1916 D dime has a lower supply, but the 1909 S VDB has a higher demand. I would by the 1909 S VDB. But I am bias. Brad www.lincolncentresource.com
Speedy, Where did you get your figures. They do not agree with Heritage. 1616-D PCGS - 3031...NGC - 1377 1909-S VDB PCGS - 4583...NGC - 2427 1909-S IHC PCGS - 1470...NGC - 854
From the NGC web site---also I added together the circulated and MS graded coins---I would say that Heritage might not add them together. Also--depending on when the auction was Heritage doesn't update their info that often so their info sometimes is off on the POP's! Speedy
I apologize. I forgot that they only give the total for that color or bandiong. The number I gave would only be for brown Lincolns and not FB mercuries.
I got mine from the PCGS Pop. Report from their Website. 4583 is the number of Brown examples. 8902 is the number of Brown, Red/Brown and Red examples total. 3031 1916 D dimes w/o full bands, and 468 with full bands. Brad www.lincolncentresource.com
The answer is simple. This is what I do every time I go to Las Vegas. I usually go once a year but maybe twice this year. Before I go, I take out my "vegas stash" from the bank. I try to put away a $20 here and a $20 there throughout the year by going without that extra soda or that latte. You would be surprised how much money the average person tinkles away. It's usually around $800-$900.00. In April, it was $1,085.00. It was a deprived year I guess. Anyway, after I check in, I go down to the casino and find a Roulette table. I watch for a few spins to get a vibe for the action and then I take the entire wad of cash and place it on black. The best odds in Vegas. 50/50. It's either red or it's black. 7 out of 10 times it comes up black. You double your money and then you go buy yourself BOTH coins. If it comes up red ... it was never meant to be.. everything happens for a reason. If you were meant to have those coins .... the fates will tell you.
