Okay, so I got the weekly cent finds and here's what was found this week. First off is a 1978, error or PMD? Next is a 1975, this looks like PMD, but welcome any opinions. And a 1948 S, I've never seen a mint mark like this before. What do you all think?
the s on the 48 might have a small die chip, or it is just pmd and got move. 75 and 78 looks like they took a hit, pmd. 68 s looks like machine doubling.
I'll agree on your assessment of the '75 and '78, but respectfully disagree on the '48 s. I think it resembles the 1948-S1¢ WRPM-004 Description: S/S East Die Markers: Obverse: NNW/SSE die scratches between the upperforehead and the hair. N/S die scratchon the bust at the shoulder fold. Reverse: Die gouge on the left side of the T in CENT where both bars meet. Light die crack from lower right wheat torim. Submitted By: Albert B. I did not even check for that. You might be right, they look very similar. Lets hope you're right and I'm wrong.
