Went to my bank to get some cash for tonight. Asked for some loose halves. My teller didn't have any but the one next to her had $4.50 worth. I said I would take them. Four 40%ers baby! I was totally stoked. The other tellers were busy or would have asked them to check their trays. I had to get back to work or I would have waited.

After yesterday's dry spell of teller trays this was quite refreshing. You can get worn out pretty easily asking for loose halves at several banks.

Salivating to get off work and do 5 boxes of halves tonight. Also, remember when people would post videos of themselves coin roll hunting? That was so lame. Just had to put that out there.

Ok so not a coin roll hunt but kind of.
I was at radio shack today and I bought a mouse because it was the store closing sale.
I haven't CRHed dimes in a while... but I could hear something fishy. I received a 1964 dime in my change i was like sweet score! But then my friend goes up to pay and i hear more strange sounds.
Long story short i asked the guy if i could have some more dimes and he said "oh i saw some old ones in here". I received 12 silver dimes in total including 2 mercury dimes. I'm ecstatic to say the least and the dimes basically cover my purchase plus more. My friend also got 2 silvers but he didn't want to sell to me :(. I shouldn't be greedy though because I'm more than happy with 12. Makes up for my skunk box of halves!

Congrats ace! My silver this week came from teller halves, dimes, and a silver quarter. Two boxes today were big skunks minus another 1987 D in great condition. I think I have all the 1987 mints now.

Found this one as well in halves? AMD or a clad error? I've been doing a lot of research and looking at pictures of these this week to learn about them when I see them. Any thoughts?

    4 boxes of halves: 8 40%ers including a 1976S 40%er. That is a first for me. Also got a 1972S.

In downtime been going through pennies and found this beautiful 1960. Think large date but need ruling on it. Couple shots for perspective IMG_0016.JPG IMG_0013.JPG

Good find with that 1976 S Half
They were part of a Special Silver set that year.

Picked up $10 worth of machine-wrapped nickels and $5 worth of hand-wrapped pennies.

    The nickels: pretty standard. 1941, 1952, 1977 Canada, a few lower-grade late 50s D mints that I tossed back

    The pennies: 1929, 1951, 1958, 1969-S, 1970-S, 2009 (x2), a bunch of Canadians (oldest 1951 - my first George in ages), 2004 Euro 2 cent

    and...

One of the rolls had a stuck coin in it... figured it was a British penny or a Euro 5 cent, but this came tumbling out - a Buffalo nickel in a penny roll! Can't make out a date but I see a hint of a mint mark on the reverse. Going to pickle this one and see if I can fill a slot in the Buffalo book with this one...

In the Red Book there are two 76S silvers listed. This does not look like a proof at all. Any ideas what's going on?

I did several rolls of pennies today.
Also looking back at stuff I was going to keep.
Upgraded a few. Got about 8 82 and every single one was large date. Only two were zinc.
I'm beginning to believe that the small date is a hoax.
I'm four I didn't have two (one loose and one in the Whitman folder) I'd be sure of it.

I believe there was a Silver uncirculated half dollar issued that year. Not necessarily proof, but still 40 %.
There was also a proof set in Silver made that year.
It may be that the mint made a proof CLAD half 1976S that was not silver???? Hmmmm...
