Sure, Thessaly is not usually in the running for the basketball playoffs, but this year they have a sweet rookie that may get them there?!

=> Larissa has been practising her dribble and it seems like she may be ready to bring-it in this year's NBA playoffs!

    THESSALY, Larissa. AR Obol
    Circa 460-400 BC
    Diameter: 12 mm
    Weight: 0.81 grams
    Obverse: Horse prancing left
Reverse: Λ-Α-P-Ι (partially retrograde), Larissa advancing left, bouncing ball; all within incuse square
Reference: BCD Thessaly I –; BCD Thessaly II 358.5; HGC 4, 502 var. (symbols on obv.)
    Other: 6h … lightly toned
    From the BCD Collection

WOW, love that one! Curious how they played that ball game... perhaps Basketball was NOT invented in the 1800's!

Steve, That's such a cool coin!! Definitely looks like a dribble practice LOL

Rather than my oft-posted Larissa, an Ant of 'Lion wrestling' (Max and Herc)....sadly, it didn't last long as an event at the Olympics;):p
