Probably a guy using the urban legend "angry ex-wife" as a marketing ploy.

Great story, but I wonder if it isn't just a made-up story to create some interest for the auctions. If not, I don't see why this woman has possession of her ex-husband's coins (unless she just changed the locks on him suddenly). If it's true and he's aware of it, I'll bet he could get a court order to remove the listings from eBay. If it's true and he's not aware of it, then I guess it could get ugly.

Bet her"husband" is sitting right next to her telling her what to put in the auction. Comes complete with horrible english!

That gal? knows more than she is letting on. I am not saying that it is a coin scammer (feedback of 4?), but I will bet that the story is just to draw attention to the auction.

I'm sure of it also. Its just an attention getter. I'd never bid on these types of auctions either.

I would go a step further, and say they might be stolen. Poor spelling also hints at that (to me at least). If you have a ton of key dates, and know nothing about them, folks will get suspicious, but, if they're your ex-husband's coins...

I thought the same thing , Well asked her a question on these & got a quick reply- I dont know if I think that as she did seem genuine in her reply- I asked "Why did these coins get left ?" & her reply was-

" THERE WERE MANY THINGS HE LEFT THAT WERE IN MY SAFE .THIS WAS A SMALL PORTION OF WHAT I THINK HE HAD .WE HAD A VERY BIG BLOW OUT & HE MOVED OUT AFTER HE WAS ARRESTED DUE TO THIS FIGHT . I HAD OUR LOCKS CHANGED & HIS STUFF DELIVERED TO HIS MOTHERS HOUSE. THIS WAS A YEAR AGO .I AM NOW A SINGLE MOM & OUR DIVORCE WAS FINAL 3 WEEKS AGO & HE NEVER ASKED ABOUT THESE COINS & I NEVER GAVE THEM A SECOND THOUGHT UNTIL THE OTHER DAY.I JUST FOUND EBAY THE OTHER NIGHT & AM HAVING FUN WITH IT NOW - I HAVE BOUGHT A FEW THINGS & DECIDED TO TRY TO SELL SOME STUFF . THATS ABOUT ALL I CAN TELL YOU ,THANKS IF YOU ARE GOING TO BID."

Now I dont know about you but that was some ramble-:eek:dd: & I think only a woman can ramble like that :smile

    Sorry ladies-

This thread has brought another question to my mind- If you were going to get divorced (God forbid) what would you do with your coins ?

I fear NOT the scorn of ANY woman.

Yeah, this one is a tough call. Either the story is legit, in which case she's hateful, dishonest, and a thief... and borderline illiterate.

Or the story is not legit, in which case she's a liar, dishonest, and thus a thief.

    Either way - forget her.

    me too

i became furious reading this thread. my X tried to do the same thing.
during divorce the coins that were mine before marriage, were mine after,
however, i bought coins after marriage witch were community property,
to be divided between us, but how to tell witch ones to divide,i had no records and guess who the courts believed. i am still replacing coins
that she legally stole from me.:headbang:

Option 1: Hide them at a friends house and tell her they were stolen.

Option 2: Sell them before the divorce is filed.

Option 3: If they say you have to divide assets 50-50 then stick the coins in her half together with lock-tite.

Reminds me of my divorce... We had guitars to split up. I married her again after I got sober... dohhh. Anyways, if it happened again, I would give her all the "better" SGS Ms-70'S and I'd keep the "junky" PCGS MS-65's. She can win that way.
    HA, that'll work !!

I find this reply suspicious. It's WAY too much information to reveal to a stranger on eBay.

Maybe someone who has been her for awhile will know where to find it,

but I've seen the same text in that auction before. It's been written about right here in the forums. I just don't remember how long ago it was or what the title was.

sorry for the other post, but this has scam written all over it...

and wow gatzdon, that's some memory you have! If we could find the old auction text and compare... that'd be fun!!! plus, I think eBay might be a little interested in it!
