Hit the teller before close yesterday and got $20 in nickels, 20 in dimes, 20 in quarters (for little man to plug holes in his state park folder) and they had a roll of halves that I grabbed, all CWR. Aside from a couple state parks and some pre 64 nickels for the Whitman the rest was a wash. I think I'm ready to get serious and get a box or two of halves and quarters to start a rotation. I've read some of you order them... is this something I have to request from my bank? Thanks in advance

Getting boxes all depends on your bank and the denomination. I don't know many banks that carry halves boxes on hand. Most banks will carry boxes of quarters on down to cents for their commercial customers and it's not difficult (at least at my bank) to get a box from them. Just ask, the worst they can say is no. If it's not something they generally do then I would ask if they could order them for you. Good luck hunting!

Scored a very nice 1954S penny out of roll number 13 of 18. And a 2009 that completes my 1975 to 2013 Harris folder.

    Don't tell anyone. But the 2009 was a D.
But since it goes face down I'll live with it.

    $25 BWR Cents: 19, 36, 41-S, 56-D, 57, 57-D, and 448 coppers

    $100 CWR Nickels: 39, 40, 40-D, 41-D, 46 (x2), 47, 48, 49, 52, 53 (x3), 54-S, 57-D, 58-D, 59-D (x2), $5 Jamaican, and a 2005 Canadian "V" nickel. Definitely not the kind of V I was hoping for, but I did do a double take.

$200 CWR Dimes: A very shiny 46 Roosie.

    The last two rolls gave up a 49D in G-VG, a 54D in VF+, a 69S in VF and some very nice 80s 90s 00s all AU.

I only need to upgrade a few modern and get a few 40s and 50s so I can take more time looking for errors on the next rolls. I'm going to try the other bank in town and see if I can change my luck.

My finds have been few and far between, lots of skunk boxes, too many to count so nothing to really post latterly until I found these. Here is a 62 Franklin I recently found in my roll search. My pictures don't do it justice but the Bell lines are distinct and visible. I know this probably isn't close to a MS65, but this year with full bell lines has a 1300-1500 value(.?) can that be right? What does everyone think, grade it or not, or just let it be a part of my collective finds? What does everyone think its grade would be? I found a 55 as well, lines are there as well. image.jpg

As it happens I will hit possibly a bank in one of the larger towns north or south of my little town.
May hit the second bank here in town anyhow.
Feel like it MIGHT be a better chance.

Awesome finds! Maybe post in US Coins forum as you would get way better feedback there than the Coin Roll Hunting one. FBL's are sweet!

Got 18 rolls of pennies. Some apparently machine wrapped answer some customer or bank wrapped.
    Will get into them later.

I had a 75 Canadian Quarter in a roll this week. On initial edge check I got excited... then after explaining what it was to little man I gave it to him for his coin collection. He got excited about the "reindeer"

Just got skunked by a box of halves.
I mean i guess it wasn't all bad, because i got a 2004 P and 2009D, still, would have loved a shimmer of silver.

Three rolls down. A very nice 1949D. A not so very nice 1944D. A what appears to be greasy die 1995P.
Li of Liberty is faint. Be not much better. 5 of 1995 is very faint second 9 a little better. In God we Trust is OK and Lincoln looks good.

Bought all the customer rolls the teller had

    $30 quarters: 3 x Bicentennial, 2 x Washington DC (P & D)

    $15 dimes: nada

    $4 nickels: nada

$5 pennies: 1952-D, 2 x 2009 (P), plus several 2017-P's in a customer roll. Notable because I only received my first one in change the day before.

    $12.50 loose halves: nada

    Bank coin machine return slot:
1910 wheatie - barely readable date, lots of verdigris on the obverse side - has clearly spent an extended period of time outdoors, underwater, or both.
    1924 wheatie - probably about AG-3
    5 zinc cents
    2014 UK 10p

    Rolls 4 and 5. A fair number of 71 and 73 and 2 72D.
    But of course I need a 72P. Nice 69D and 67P.
Ugly 56D. Awesome 1992D and 1993D that could have just left the mint.

Rolls seven and eight. A beautifully toned 1983P. A rather beat up 70S. And two of the ugliest still identifiable 62D and 80D that you ever saw!

I did but I may have missed the rarity of halves and needing to order them. I'll reread it through. Found another dud roll today so I'm going to call the local branch and have them order a box to get started with.
