1995 d doubled die or have I really been working too much and I need to spend a lot more time learning ?
It graded Red-Brown MS-62 . I match the images to Coneca site too . http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1995PDDO002.htm I also had it at the fun show last November and Potter said this is a hard one to find ..
Thanks for the response. I have been trying to find time to learn more but I have been non stop with work. I found an example on pcgs coin facts app and tried to compare all the marks from the graded coin and it seemed to have every characteristic of the one I saw. Ill post pic so maybe you can tell me what I missed so I understand a little more of what I keep missing. If you don't mind.
Ok, you have my attention now . Looks like DDO-003 .. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1995DDDO003.htm
Uh oh. I'm glad I said something then. I have been using 20x loupe and I usually hit variety vista, Lincoln Cent resource as well as pcgs coin facts app on phone. I do have a 1972 that I think is a ddo but I am not sure if its the good one or correct doubling. These came from rolls. I was doing 2 boxes a wk for a while but no time lately. Let me know what you think of this 1972.
Pickin and Grinnin and Paddyman are usually my dream crushers on these matters. Doubled dies are tricky especially being first year collector. I search for hours and usually come up with nothing worth mentioning.
I'm definitely seeing double here. The problem is, your photos don't allow me to tell if it's MD or DD. It would help if you took straight on shots instead of angled ones. It would also help to open the case, but I understand if you don't want to.
I have no problem doing that. I appreciate the help. I took more pics of the 1995 d, just trying to get pic of the die gouges for you. I do the angle shots because of the lighting. I'm just using phone and small l.e.d. table lamp. Ill get straighter shots from now on. I'm color blind so it usually takes different lighting for me to see what others do. What would you think this coins grade would be ? Around about?
Sorry for the confusion; I was responding to and about your 1972 cent. Also, I use a 10x loupe and an iPhone for most of my shots. Good lighting and a steady hand should do the trick. Here's one of mine without any extra zoom.
Okay here goes my straight shots. Just normal camera on phone no loupe. If you need me to take better pic through eye piece I can. Also just put a couple of coins I found that have what seem to be clad errors but they could be after mint. Ill upload quite a few of the random odd ball coins I've found. Even if errors seemed bogus on some I kept them just in case.
