oh man, sorry to hear that...that would drive me TOTALLY nuts.

so, they are all in the same envelope right?

some good ideas have been proposed here...but i'm at a loss.

i'm starting to think that a sallent like nightmare scenario may be at play...have you checked the trash? i have almost thrown out a coin thinking i already removed it from an envelope myself!!!!! i picked it up to put it in the trash and felt the coin in the envelope! thank heavens!

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear about this Steve. I hope they turn up soon. It's bad enough when the PO losses them.

    That's crazy man!
A feeling I wouldn't want to experience anyday

Did you check the fridge ?
That's where they should be in the end when you were coming back from Wallmart

    Stinks... Hope it turns up.

When I can't find something it's typically in one of three places-
    1) in that gap between the driver seat and center console in my car after it slips out of my right pocket
    2) in the inner pocket of my coat or suit jacket (cause who checks there)
    3) on the floor next to my bedroom end table

I've lost a few things in my house. When I was collecting postcards, I misplaced a new one right around the time that I was moving. Figured it would turn up when I unpacked but no luck. Thought maybe I'd find it the next time I moved but no luck there either. That was 5 years ago. Then a few months ago it turns up. I figured "better put it in the album before I lose it again". That was the last time I saw it... But at least I know it's around somewhere.

another day of randomly checking everywhere (again) ... sadly, no luck

=> I think I'm merely gonna wait until we move all of the stuff back into the basement (once the renos are completed)

That'll either unearth it (yeah) ... or potentially bury it forever (*awww*)

anyway ... I'll be fine (it rattles me, but I'm sure it'll work-out no matter what happens) ... "it's only money"

if you know it's in the house then it should be a "ok, i got here..somewhere", but if you're not well...good luck, we're all counting on you..

I went to the post office and got it and put it into my knapsack (which I've checked 50 times!!) ... got into my truck (which I've turned upside-down)

... and then "who knows" ... sadly, I can't recall taking it out of the knapsack when I got home ...

=> I guess that's why they call it "lost" ... I don't know if it made it home?

BUT HOME HAS BEEN METHODICALLY CHECKED, ROOM-BY-ROOM

    ... *sigh* ...

Let's stop talking about it ... it makes me sad (I'll update this thread if any new news comes in ... okay?)

Thanks, gang ... it is only money, right (super cool money ... but still only money)

Sure it's only money, but still it sucks !

Fingers crossed for you to find them in a weird, weird place (you won't even dare telling us where you'll have finally found them)

Hmmm, well maybe I'll start checking thawed poops in the backyard (yup, Spring is just around the corner where I live!!) ... the poops will soon start to surface (or I guess the snow will start to melt?)

    => it's a poop-illusion (Escher-print?)
