You need clear images of the coin, out of the holder. There is no way to tell what marks are on the coin or just on the holder. It looks nice but there is no way to know.

If I take it out of the holder the air will tarnish it.

Looks like it's a 1923 not 1928 and one that's been harshly scrubbed or polished.

10 or 15 minutes out of the holder will not destroy your coin. Tarnish is not a quick process.

It's worth enough to buy a cheap pair of reading glasses and see that the date is 1923, not 1928. (It's possible to be deceived by this photo, but there's no way that will look like a 1928 in hand.)

If you want to go back to trolling, we know you can do better than this.

If you took it out of the holder, we could probably tell you... and you'd see that it's a 23 and not a 28.

If you paid more than would be appropriate for a cleaned 1923-P dollar, I think you're right.

Hydrogen sulfide is somewhat denser than air, and would therefore tend to accumulate in low-lying areas -- under bridges, for example.

Great reply's from everyone. I agree that it sure looks like a 23' from the pics thru the holder, it will not hurt a bit by removing it as long as you are careful not to scratch it etc. Looks like a 58+
Please retake some better pic's for us Thanks

    $20-$25? It's a 1923, not a 1928.
