Box of Halves: One 1967. It looks like a proof but I don't think they made them that year. Anyone know?

With an absence of mintmarks on U.S. coins during that year, there are essentially just two types of 1967 Kennedy half dollars for collectors to acquire – the regular-strike 1967 Kennedy half dollar and the Special Mint Set (SMS) 1967 Kennedy half dollar. So maybe it came from a SMS

It's gotta be a SMS then. Doesn't look like any 40%er I have ever seen. It actually looks like a modern NIFC Copper Clad.

Thanks. It's (I think) the 4th statue of liberty commemorative I've found. Be nice to see a commem that's not CuNi.

Not a great photo but this kind of shows the difference.

Yeah Lon, that's it. I think I'll hang onto it even though it's a little circulated.

$100 in CWRs (actually were MWR rewraps) halves yielded zero :vomit:. I'm back to the norm of finding nothing after finding the 7 Franklins last week.

Today is the day I purge the junk halves I've accumulated since January. Look out bank teller, here comes some extra weight for you to carry!

I hear a Beatles song coming on! I am having about the same luck right now as well. Two boxes of have this morning and one was a dump and one was a skunk. That's either seven or eight boxes so far with nada. Spin the wheel!

I picked up 15 rolls like this yesterday too (rewrapped BWRs). Found 3 slightly damaged NIFCs: 2006-D, 2009, 2009-D

I figured there would be no silver, but maybe an upgrade or a proof. < shrugs >

Great find! I imagine it's both of those actually. It looks like it's lived.

Went to the bank to deposit some money for my wife. Asked the teller if she had any halves or Ike dollars, "Yup, but you might not want them, they are dirty" was her response.

    I took them anyway:
