I've found nothing in ages. I've worked at the same grocery store 5 years and check the tray the same time every day, 5 or 6 days a week. My last silver find was back in mid November, and the only find of any kind in 2017 thus far was a handful of NAMCO tokens about a month and a half ago. They moved the machine from near the bathrooms around the corner of the front end to right next to the service desk and since then I've had virtually no luck. I'm not sure whether it's the location of the machine, another coin collecting employee or both, but for whatever reason my luck has gone down the drain. But hey, can't complain, I'll keep checking. Can't resist the allure of free silver.
A lousy Canadian 10c, ho hum... ...but what really impressed me was noticing that nice bright fresh look on the US dime, dated 1964-D that made me notice it was silver from 3-4 feet away from the machine.
A day later, same machine, same results. A Canadian 10c coin and a 1964-D dime. Same day, another store: 7 assorted cents 2 quarters 1 1918 Lincoln, with a lamination on the field in front of Lincoln. The machine that had the silver is the same machine I found a silver roosie last week. Three in a week. I likey that machine.
Two machines today: Machine one - the same result as the last 3 visits: 1 Canada 10c 1 1964-D silver - AGAIN! Machine two: 17 US cents 4 US nickels 2 US dimes 2 US quarters 1 Canada 5c 1 Canada 10c 1 Canada 25c 1 Canada $1 1989 1 Mexico 5 pesos 2001 1 Mexico 10 pesos 2003 1 Peru 20 centimos 1993 - coin is in AG condition at best - heavily worn for a 24 year old coin 1 maverick video game token.
No silver again!!!! Bicentennial Quarter 25 cents 1 dime 1 nickel 1 Lincoln Memorial Cent Total 41 cents
Different machines in a different burg: 10 cents in cents 2 dimes 1 half dollar - hah! 2 Canada 5c 4 Canada 10c 3 Canada 25c Machine 2 1 narsty zincoln.
Reject bin paid me 2 Canadian dimes, Canadian quarter, Singapore 10 cents and an American quarter to clean it out.
I hadn't heard of it, but just looked it up. The Discovery Zone chain went out of business in 1999. Strange how the token ended up in a reject slot this year.
First time checking the reject bin at my local Kroger and I found two 90% silver dimes. A '63 and a '64. Super excited!
Yeah I was born in '90 so I used to go there as a kid, it was like the mcdonalds playplace on steroids. Looking back on it, I can't imagine how much germs and bacteria were in those ball pits though
