If gold doesn't go up enough to cover the premium, these will likely sell for a discount later on just like the 2014 gold Kennedy. I'd be up for grabbing one for the right price.

 

I am more surprised that the standing liberty quarter and the walk-in liberty half is still available... Wow just fracking wow

I actually like the gold walking liberty half. It's my favorite of the bunch.

Fascinating that so many are for sale on ebay at stupid money prices. The reverse looks good it's just the obverse that's gonna make that coin a loser. I dare somebody here to buy it!! I double dare you!!

That ain't a cheap coin.
Most of the coin collecting population won't be able to afford it; slabbed or not.

 

Indeed, be really interesting to know how many of those sales were to commercial interests versus people who want it for their collection.

Compare this launch to the 2015 version that had a 50k mintage and sold out within the first few hours.
