Has anyone seen the new mint set packaging? The cover of the August 28, 2007 Coin World featured a mint illustration of one of the sets. They will be held in 2 (seems to me) cardboard displays that fold over. One from each mint. Blue background for Philly, and Red for Denver. They will have the statehood quarters across the top, and all of the dollars grouped together along the bottom (first Pres then Sac) and in the center between them on the left is the nickel and cent, the US Mint, etc. logos in the center, and the dime and half dollar on the right. It appears that the coins will be contained in a plastic shell and might even have the feature used on many commemorative holders where the coin may be rotated within the holder. I was curious as to what they would look like, and I think someone at the mint should be congratulated for coming up with this one! It looks like a winner to me!
Here's a picture: http://coins.about.com/b/a/000149.htm I like the new design, but it sucks that the State Quarter series will have two different types of mint set packaging.
Interesting. Not sure what this all means though. I just received my order for 15 Uncirc and 15 Proof sets and they all looked normal. Nothing like what is in the aricle. If they switch to that, I will not order anymore. It's a room reason.
I didnt know the Unc. Sets were out yet either. I believe the Silver proof sets are to be released next, tomorrow in fact. I'd have to see the new unc. set holder in my hand before I decide if I like it or not.
