ASE proof coins and eBay question

I am looking to fill some gaps in my ASE proof collection and either need to buy a DeLorean and get it up to 88 mph OR go to eBay.

Are most of the proof eagles on eBay those that were submitted for grading and didn't make an acceptable grade? What about when I see a guy selling multiples like 5 or 10 is this most likely the case?

I am not looking for a perfect coin but rather one not ever remove from the holder.

You can find all sorts of eagles in original mint packaging on eBay. Just look for ones with good pictures so you can see what you're buying. I'd also recommend filtering by catacory and finding ones listed as US coins and not bullion. Add them to your watch list and buy them on an eBay bucks bonus day ;)

There's a lot of variables that make it impossible to say. From the big boy sellers on newer issues that is usually the case. Small sellers likely not but never know where they got it either.
