It's another case of the mint having issues doing something they did fine in the past. The edge inscription on the reeded Olympic silver dollars is much better looking in my view than what is on the 30th Anniversary eagles. Pic from the above linked article
I am not a fan of the seams that result from the edge stamping process. The 2017 gold liberty looks like she suffers from this as well. I have the proof and uncirculated 30th coins to fill the collection slots, thats about it.
