Just won this. Before I pay, thoughts on authenticity? I felt good about it, and feel it is a solid AU+.

There is a 14-day return policy, and the seller is legit.

I don't see anything right off that makes me question its authenticity. As for grade, I'd say 45 as there is considerable wear and not a drop of luster.

Check for the variety of the Repunched 1 (in 1 Dollar).

    I just see Longacre doubling.

Looks ok to me. Don't recall too many fakes that show reverse die clashing. As to grade, I have a terrible time seeing luster in photos, but I'm thinking 50-53. I see a little high point wear.

I like it but wish it had some luster. Nice clash.

These are scans, and scans make even the most vibrant luster look dull. I think this coin will be fully lustrous in hand. If not, I guess you guys can call me wrong.

Didn't know that. I'll bet it's a really nice coin.

Given the wear, which shows up in scans or pics, I doubt it. Also, not everybody realizes it but but luster has what I like to call a texture (for lack of a better word) to it, and that coin doesn't have it. But, I've been wrong before.

If you buy it, and manage to get good pics, I reckon we'll see.

I beg to differ. Better pictures to come.

The 1 in dollar looks repunched to me as Frank said.
The letters look like Longacre doubling but the 1 is a repunch

I'd readily agree that most people's scans do not show luster, but that doesn't mean that a scan cannot show luster.

This is scan, and it shows the underlying luster - and color.
