Grrr....are any other searchers having this problem?

I spent ALL day today searching every place with a 20 mile radius in search of several roles of mixed date lincoln cents to NO avail.

Banks say they only have the '07 dates. All stores I have checked with, same thing.

Are my days of penny plundering over???

Any suggestions from you guys on a good place to get hold of large quantities of Lincolns cents to satisfy my desperate plundering need? (Local type places, stores and such not ebay or online.)

By the way, I have noticed several ppl saying they are having trouble obtaining bank rolled and uncirc'ed '07 lincolns. If that's the case let me know, there seems to be nothing else here.

    grrr lucky you hahaha.

Back in the early to late '90s all I found were mixed rolls as well.

But, I can't seem to find a single mixed roll here to save my life. Hell, even all of my pennies received from normal transactions are '07s. The coin collecting "god" must be frowning up me pretty heavily. (Or either laughing pretty hard)

    SHARE THE WEALTH!! hahah

I'm about to have a fit wanting some mixed roll pennies over here. Looks like I may have to go the the net to get some coins I can search.

I think you should extend the search radius to 50 miles.

I don't know where you live...it must be an under developed but here in the big city ...there are mixed rolls to be found everywhere. I've got 9 banks in a 4 block radius.

I'm in a smaller town, though we are officially a metropolis.

Huge college town and there are probably an avg. of 5 banks within every 2 or so business district blocks in this town. We locals have a running discussion about whether the new building they are clearing the land for will be a bank or a hotel.

I live in the town where Wild Adventures theme park is...maybe you have heard of it since it's gotten quite big in the last few years.

Unless you're looking for a huge quantity, ask for customer-returned rolls at the bank, or find out which (if any) of your local banks have a coin counting machine and ask to buy the bags, usually $50 worth, as they get filled up. You're virtually guaranteed to get older coins.

Where are you at? I'm having the exact same problem with my main bank here in Southern MI. Another bank that I frequent still has mixed rolls, but they usually only have as much as is deposited by customers.

If I were you I'd ebay the rolls. Thats what I did with two of the boxes I've gotten. My auction isn't over yet, but similar auctions for boxes of uncirculated 07's went for $15-$20 over face.

thats kinof strange all your getting is the 2007. usually banks give you customer wrapped. they must have new boxes of them and are handing those out first.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. I remember back in '95 during the '95 DDO lincoln craze, I couldn't get a uncirc'ed roll of '95s to save my life. (though I did manage to scoop about 50 nice AU ddos from customer rolled mixes.)

Now, EVERYWHERE I go only has brand new uncirc'ed rolls of '07 cents. As of today, I have checked all 60+ convenience stores in the area, 90% of the banks, both wal-marts, target and the dollar stores with no luck at all. Not 1 mixed roll.

Bad thing about having to ebay the rolls is, 2.00 for the roll then the outrageous (sometimes 10 bucks or more) shipping those guys want. Not to mention, the rolls are most likely already plundered.

Any of you guys care to help a searcher out? hahahahah

i would't even want to buy rolls on ebay! just keep asking the banks, or if you want to, drive around until you find a bank that has mixed rolls.

As someone who buys a roll or two here or there, don't freak out - my friend!!! Relax!

When it comes to going into banks and asking for rolls of coins - I am very timid. I politely ask and get whatever I receive.

I really like going though roosy rolls. But for the past few weeks, ALL I GET are 2007-D roosy rolls.

Now a more forceful person might have asked the teller to look for rolls where the coins seem to be circulated. That's not my style. I take the 2007 rolls home with me and make the best of the opportunity. I search for weird stuff and really, really high quality examples. I've actually got several 2x2's filled with cool stuff I got out of the rolls.

I really like the expression: If in life, you are dealt Lemons, it is best to know how to make Lemonade.

Sir, I don't know what you're looking for, but SOMEONE ELSE is probably looking for what you're throwing away.

Trust me, if it's worth keeping, I keep it :)

I probably have handfuls of Ms68+ 07 lincolns. No luck with any errors yet though. Not even a "shelf" double example.

P.S. thanks for the positive words. It makes it easier haha.

I picked up a box of pennies a few weeks ago. They were all new '07-Ds. I was hoping for 50 mixed rolls, but I'm keeping the box for now. Who knows, maybe it will be worth more than $25 in a couple of years? A buddy of mine sells them quite often on eBay and gets up to $60 a box.
