Galba portraits make him look like a bulldog. Nice coin @ro1974. I would love to afford the first coin, but be very glad to own either.

Interesting topic. We all have run across numerous examples that appear 'too good to be true'....and some of the gang own examples that I will never be able to afford. Realizing so many were almost immediately lost or buried after being struck does explain matters but they still cause me pause.

This tetrabol comes to mind simply because it is so high grade for such a small silver coin struck circa 400 BC.

Could be....or else Apollo was still experimenting with 'make-up' (his feminine stage) and had an adverse reaction???;)

Im pretty new to ancients (only have four, a fifth is on its way) and as much as I like the way that first Galba looks, Im more attracted to the ones with some wear and tear. It kinda gives them some character and then to think about the hands they were held in and if they could talk, the stories they would tell. I love seeing these peices.
