I am not really a fan of Lincoln cents... but I needed a shiny red copper cent for my showcase of coins with rich colors and rainbow toners... $15 let's see if it's worth the money.

Well, I will post these here since I paid $35 each for them straight out of the original proof sets (that $50 limit doesn't count towards grading fees, does it?) Just got my grades in today. Was going to do a GTG, but grading proofs from images...not so easy...so figured I might as well just share them here!

Both coins just received PF68 Ultra Cameo from NGC. Can't wait to get them in hand...because they are going to pay for my submission fees and all the coins that went with them. :) :) :)

I kinda like your chances. Note the slab shows pretty much exactly the color you'd expect it to - that means the image's color balance is close to spot-on and the coin's color will show as you see it. That does not discount the possibility of overlighting making the coin look "brighter" than it should, but in that instance I'd expect some manifestation of light reflecting off the slab.

Don't think you'll have any trouble dumping it if it doesn't meet your standard. :)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! As the thread creator, I have carte blanche on the rules of this thread. With that said, the grading fees put you over the top on the $50.00 rule and you must immediately remove those horrible looking albino Franklin's..

Of course I'm kidding, those are amazing!! I can't believe you found them in the wild. I look at proof sets all the time and have yet to find any even close to cameo. You dawg!!

I too look at proof sets all the time (well, when a shop will let me, that is...) - although usually for varieties. But when a Franklin looks like a strong cameo through the mint cello... you buy the set. And you also bring home its buddy, because you can't separate the pair! (Bought them at the same place.)

I also think it's funny that they were on eBay for a while without any bidders at MUCH less than what I'm going to ask for them now. Oh well...

You know you're correct yes worn but evenly.
With plenty of detail still legible on the surface .
Some of the stars look to be doubled sort of hard to see since they are so worn can't really confirm but some doubling .
