And our (U.S.) unofficial motto is e pluribus unum. One of the biggest differences between France and the U.S. E Pluribus Unum was considered a de facto motto of the United States until 1956 when the Unite States Congress passed an act, adopting "In God We Trust" as the official motto.
To send a message to the forum at-large to post pictures that aren't blurry and strenuous to the eyes. My eyes were in pain for a number of seconds after looking at your pictures. That can't be good long term. Blurry, pain-inducing pictures have become all too common on the forum. It's time to take a stand.
I'm sorry! I should have qualified my statement. It was common for the holed coins with denominations of 5 Centimes, 10 Centimes, 20 Centimes and 25 Centimes. Chris
This is no joke. This is serious. This story (while on the extreme end) helps to demonstrate how physically powerful, serious and potentially detrimental images can be.
Shoot.......I didn't think they were that 'blurry'. And I could make out all of the details on the coin. If the photos hurt ones eyes so much, then don't look at them. Simple as that. And Rick did apologize for the hasty shots.......he just wanted to give folks an idea of what he had without going through the maggilla of setting up the photo kit, along with proper lighting and focus, and all the other jazz. Heck, I've done it and didn't get dinged for it........
Now I'm sorry I didn't just kill you to put you out of your misery. You might want to consider wearing a tin foil hat from now on.
And to think, it has only taken you 12 years to get around to complaining. How many years will it be before you make your feelings known about "Thumbnails" or useless polls? Chris
While the pictures were legible, they caused pain in my eyes. Like I said, I've taken to blocking blurry pics like these with Adblock Plus, a leading, state-of-the-art ad and image blocker made for Chrome and Firefox. My point in posting about the blurriness is to raise awareness more broadly to the forum. After all, I still have to be initially subjected to such pics before realizing they're blurry and that they need to be removed from view. Useless polls are alright; they don't cause potential harm to my vision. Thumbnails are becoming increasingly passé. I'm starting to prefer coin videos myself.
It's old news that flashing lights can induce seizures in people who are susceptible. I'm not aware of any similar effect for blurry images. However, there are sharply-focused static images that can cause issues. I'd need a bit more provocation before I'd consider posting one.
with some blurry photos we can tell what it is, but if you want an accurate grade and value then it better be in focus.
