Was gong thru my father in laws coins and found a possible 2004 - D Wisconsin lower leaf error, can anyone confirm and are there any other ines that i shiukd be looking at,+
@mpcusa Did your father in law start coin collecting after the quarters began or was he already a collector? I'm curious how many people became coin collectors from the state quarters. I really don't think it was many. Many I think were just pack rats who thought it was an easy lotto and then they spent them at the laundry. The first 3 or 4 quarters were interesting. I found the rest to be pretty boring. Like I really want to look at NASA launching another Humped-Backed Station Wagon on the Florida Quarter.
It was long before the statehood quarters came out, a couple of his daughters were waitresses in the early to mid 70,s and he wiukd collect there tips at the end of the night, mot sure if he ever came uo with anything special but it was still pretty cool. I actually posted a thread on these in the bullion section as there was allot of 40 percent silver ib the collection.
The two that i posted are different, but really cant make your examples out clearly coud you [pst individual pics.
On the first two quarters I do not see any extra leaf - but the pictures are not real clear to me. I went to ebay and cropped a couple pictures to show the high extra leaf and low extra leaf.
There was a time about 20 years ago, I was buying rolls of the new issues from a dealer. The jackwagon started shipping them in paper rolls instead of the tubes they promised. After collecting about 10 state issues, I got disgusted and threw them in a change jar. Later on, I just got so aggravated I spent them on parking meters.
Thanks Sal, I thought I had a diamond in the rough..LOL, my examples are very different when it comes to the cheese
