Just had to brag as I never see money in these machines but that changed today, I was amazed like a child in a candy store!

On two different occasions I went to my local Check Cashing location to check the Coinstar. I saw a customer putting coins so I waited outside until they were done. They finished, grabbed the slip with the amount and ran to the cashier window. They didn't even look at the reject tray. I entered, looked, saw a few coins and grabbed them quick. They weren't anything major. A few foreign coins and some crusty US coins. So you're right. Many people don't check. And sometimes we score as I did with my big silver!
Yep, you definitely have great access to overlooked coin returns, I was shocked as that was my first significant find at $4.16!
So far I've mostly found nasty zinc cents or coins that the machine didn't accept for some reason, But I have found a few foreign coins and one silver dime.
95% of the time I get nothing at all. When there IS anything at all there, it’s usually a zinc cent that’s so corroded it looks like an asteroid.
LOL, asteroid. Funny! Maybe you have to hit them at certain times. Before the Hobo's get the coins. Snooze you lose.
Not a lot of hobos at the Harris-Teeter grocery store in the Shops at Sea Island, where the CoinStar machine is. More millionaires than hobos there. At one time, I believe Sea Island was the second richest ZIP code in the country. (Of course I’m just the hired help, not a resident.)
