Wondering if anybody knows anything about this token I received as a gift from a friend. We both lived up in Silverton back in the early 80s. Wondered if anybody knew anything about these and when they were made. It is about the size have a half dollar.
I don't recall seeing them for sale when I rode the train from Durango to Silverton three years ago. I am guessing that is from the 1980s-1990s era
I didn't see them for sale either when we did it 16 years ago, but I did pick up this to-go cup which is still going strong. Pro tip - don't do the round trip if you suffer from motion sickness, or even if you don't. Take the one-way and ride the bus back. All that lurching even got to me, and my wife spend most of the return locked in the toilet puking.
I agree. I lived there and I rode it a couple of times Durango to Silverton. I can imagine if you rode it up and back down again on the same day it could be a bit much.
You can schedule stop on the D and S, they will still stop for you on the way up, nd stop for you to relieve your day.. Thats tough country.
