United States: 1925 silver Peace dollar

    NGC MS66. Cert. #8796679-008.

    Numista-5580, Krause-Mishler-150.

    Mintage: 10,198,000.

    Ex-Northeast Numismatics, 20 August 2026, as part of a 5-coin swap deal.

This is a nice off-white supergem Peace dollar with the faintest hint of champagne-gold toning. I previously had a PCGS MS65 example that looked quite similar, but my friend @Randy Abercrombie was rather enamored of that coin, so I let him twist my arm into parting with it. This left me with the opportunity (or need) to upgrade, so I acquired this MS66 in a swap with Northeast Numismatics. It is an uncommonly nice example of a common date, and the highest graded Peace dollar I've had to date, in 50 years of collecting. I've never owned an MS66 before.

I note that this coin was graded in June of 2026, so because I acquired it in August of that year, it was pretty recently encapsulated.

Interesting my only MS66 is also a 1925 Peace dollar NGC. I think I like yours better.

Randy, my friend, I remain as ever in your debt, so you know I actually would do that for you. ;)
