^ Ok, enough of the not wanting to confusion. It's actually a dime cover by a pocked change quarter. Post is in reference to what to expect from ebay / pcgs on authenticated coins.
    So there you have it.
What should I do with the simi fancy box ?

What's the deal with them covering everything up so you can't even read the grading label? They are IDIOTS!:rolleyes:

If someone now sells that on eBay in the cellophane, does it skip the authentication? If so, we’ll quickly see counterfeit “authenticated” stickers.

Know what, baloney, this coin is one of the first to go to the almighty fleabay.
    None of my others have.
So off with the silly fane.
Can't even see the nice coin thru it.
    Into the trash it goes.
Plus, if you look a sold coins on fleabay it says that this coin was "authentictacated" so the they keep the history.

Fake slab, most likely containing a fake coin?

Yes, double fake. Their process states they only verify the slab, so who knows if they even looked at the coin...

Yep, if they only authenticate the slab. And I wonder how they do that? This one would likely be a challenge for them if sold and run through the process (never mind my dark side bean:D):

Actually, the seller listed about two weeks earlier; I notified NGC and they nuked the cert. I notified the seller and he ended it only to relist it at a higher price and the authenticity guarantee...

Ah, so you and NGC already did the work and all PCGS had to do was look it up.

I’m curious how you landed on that particular coin. Looking for CC Morgan fakes? I don’t even go there anymore unless a listing gets posted on here.

I use the Bay to find current fakes; I actually used this one in a Live Coin Q&A podcast prior to it being relisted.

I know you intentionally bought this knowing it was fake. (not that I can tell, I'm just assuming). No risk of actually buying it, unless it turned out real. Looks like you've found a new hobby, aggravating eBay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :D I wonder how long they will like going down this rabbit hole they just wandered into. o_O

The Flea's new policy is going to be a real thorn in shady dealer's higher listed items. Unfortunately, that's just the tip of the iceburg. Most of the fraud comes from cheap Temu junk sold for melt or less. All of that will fly underneath the new policy's radar.
