Ah, OK, so I cropped a screenshot and tried that. So there ya have it. Steven Mnuchin. Thank you, Gemini bot. IF that is correct. The handwritten signature looks totally different to me than the printed one, so...? But I suppose it would make sense for a Mnuchin signature to be placed on that part of the bill.
AI told me that too, but I thought it got confused because the signatures look nothing alike. I just learned that Steve Mnuchin printed his name on bills instead of signing it. But it still looks different. This is a tough one...
The printed signatures are based off the Treasurer and Secretary of Treasury doing their best to sign as perfectly as they can, so will look a lot "neater" than when they hand sign something. (Jacob Lew famously had a signature that just looked like all loops, but when he became Secretary of the Treasury he did a different signature to actually be put on notes.) I am pretty sure that is indeed Mnuchin's signature, like... 99% sure... it was known that the "signature" they based his printed one on the note off of is not the way he typically signs his name; he carefully hand-printed that one to make it easier to read (similar to the way Lew altered his) so when he actually signs by hand it would look a lot different. So it definitely could be his... but I'm having a hard time finding a point of comparison (every time I try to look up "Mnuchin's signature" it just keeps showing me banknotes with the printed version, which doesn't help at all). Best I could find was a post that explained that Mnuchin's natural signature is quite "loopy" and hard to read (unfortunately that wasn't accompanied by an actual picture of his signature.) Can you believe AI? Well, AI gets its information from somewhere. AI isn't always right, but it's not always wrong either; I'd rather confirm where it got its information from. Like, show me where you got a picture of Mnuchin's natural signature from so I can see what it looks like! Anyway amazing find, especially just in the wild! I know the note's not in great condition, but if it's actually signed by Mnuchin it might still be worth getting authenticated. There's a lot of bills with other famous people's autographs but if it's not the Secretary or the Treasurer, it's just worth whatever that particular autograph is worth.
