I'm thinking AU58 details, cleaned, based on the picture, but if the coin's look is because of the picture, straight 58.

I am not fully sure if it is cleaned or just the photo... I will be optimistic and say AU 55 (straight grade)

I’m really tired and my eyes are aching but I’d say it a low MS grade, like a 61 or 62.

The more I look the more those pics do the coin little justice.. since I can't share the video I snagged some screenshots which might show the coin a little better :D feel free to adjust any already made guesses :D Screenshot 2026-09-07 205207.png Screenshot 2026-09-07 205243.png Screenshot 2026-09-07 205300.png Screenshot 2026-09-07 205400.png Screenshot 2026-09-07 205441.png Screenshot 2026-09-07 205507.png

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I'm going to go in a completely different direction from the crowd and say 63 PL.

I don't see any signs of cleaning, but I know that prooflike surfaces can often give the wrong impression. Taking pictures of PL coins and successfully showing their surfaces is very difficult.

Very difficult for me. I while back I spent way too much time trying. I gave up and went on to something I knew I could get good results.
@physics-fan3.14 I know you have a really cool collection of PLs. Could you share how you go about imaging these things?

Honestly? Trial and error. Every coin is different. I move the lights, I change the height of the camera, I fiddle about. I'll take 50 pictures and pick which one I like the best. I don't have the sophistication that someone like @messydesk does... I'm sure he could give you a much more technical approach.

It's early but I don't think the pic's were really good enough for gtg. I'll have good pics for you in a day or 2 once the coin arrives. 03f.jpg

I'm late to the party but my guess was MS62, no PL. I have about a half dozen ICG slabs but I cherry picked them for the coin inside. They are my 4th choice down the list for confidence in their grading acumen for Morgans. That's probably going to make a few people mad.

I thought about Proof-Like, but I didn't see any indication of contrast between the fields and devices. I don't think I've ever seen a Morgan Dollar with Proof-Like devices. Is that possible?

There is absolutely no requirement for contrast (or cameo) for a prooflike coin. Many Morgans do, just because of how the fields are basined - but absolutely not required. It is completely dependent on the reflectivity of the fields.

I think it's usually the contrast between the field and devices? The US mint is messing with my mind doing those modern reverse cameos. I've quit looking at them.:D
