It's taken a couple of years but I am now one Colonial Note away from having a note from each of the original thirteen colonies. This my latest acquisition.

 

Very nice note to add to your collection.
I have A 15 shilling note from Pennsylvania and what I really like about the note is it printed on the reverse side to counterfeit is death. Does your note have that?

 

Had to switch phones to get the photos.

 

Interesting that notes from multiple states as well as Continentals were all printed by Hall and Sellers.

 

My note does not mention dying for counterfeiting.

 

I just added this to my suite of series 1922 gold certificates. I think it's kind of neat to be a low grade with a PPQ desination.

 

I didn’t see it that’s why I asked. I wasn’t sure if all the colonies had that or not. As you can see on mine, it’s oblivious.

 

PPQ is for premium paper quality. Even for a lower grade note is still has crispness and is unaltered. Very nice notes.

 

Pretty decent margins for a PMG-20.

Killer for the grade was the crease in the middle ?

 

I think that’s what held it back from a higher grade myself. Those creases are really a grade factor.

 

How large a holder is that? Is it about the same size as a large note holder? Just curious

 

It’s a standard size note holder.

 

Just won this the other night at Heritage...my 1st win there going back to 2020, I think.

1934 Series Atlanta $20 FRN with LGS.

I love the Light Green Seal (LGS) ink...just a different compound mixture than DGS, doens't signify any different bill type or other bill printing....just ink mixture.

I think I made it with $10 to spare on how high I was willing to go.

 

That,s highly unusual, however that is a first generation PCGS (Collectors Universe Holder ) is the reason why, the company basically had its head you know where
there are allot of errors in grading at that juncture for example had a series 691 MPC that they graded a 68 that when i went to get it regraded in one of there new holders only gave it a 66 a huge difference, they didnt even have the balls to back up there own grading, big surprise there no longer in business..LOL

 

I'll be sending it to PMG.

 

That,s a smart choice, would be very interested on how they grade it, but expect to lose that PPQ or PMG EPQ enhancement, there grading has always been more strict then the old PCGS.

 

I think PCGS Banknotes eliminated alot of the problems the previous owners had, right ?

 

-That's what I heard (that the new PCGS enterprise is much more consistent & accurate). I haven't seen any problem certifications (yet)! I saw far more problem Legacy certifications but they may have finally straightened things out recently.
