I don't think it's in his best interest to divulge his ID, and it appears that he realizes it.

 

Isn't putting an item up on eBay at an astronomically unreasonable price also just a way that some dealers "advertise" an item for sale to prospective buyers? I mean, plenty of online dealers include the address of their B&M store in the listing. If one is really interested in the item, a simple google search gets them the dealer's store contact info, and then communication/negotiation outside of eBay is then underway...

Isn't an eBay listing THE way to get "the most eyes on" your coins?

 

Are you asking for my eBay i.d.? By similar manner are you asking if I have ever been a non-paying bidder? The answer is "no." And my eBay i.d. should be easy since I attach my logo to most all pics I post. allegiance-rare-coins

Honestly, IMO he has been called out (rightly so), but he is blind to is wrongdoing and refuses to listen. People like that don't ever change and nothing will change their minds. I also was under the assumption that you weren't a seller, so it didn't matter to you. But about that I guess I was wrong

I don't have anything personal against OP, but sometimes people need a good shaking when they have a ridiculously skewed perception of things. It sure sounds like OP was digging a monetary hole trying to run a business without adequate capital which resulted in sketchy business practices trying to dig back out. These bad business practices result in dissatisfied buyers and sellers which hurts the hobby as a whole.

 

Maybe, but they'd be better served by putting things up at a reasonable price that covers their eBay fees, with a reasonable profit margin, IMO.

 

IMHO, this thread has outlived its usefulness.
