In slight seriousness, it'll still be several months before I try Ebay (I'll be 18 in March), but when I do, if I have Morgans like this, I'd likely try to list them under the Buy it Now listings to avoid possibly losing money, but I would sometimes experiment with certain coins to see how the bidding goes.

You might have actually helped a fellow CoinTalker by shark feeding on that coin, granted they might not have posted for a while but there are a ton of members.

You are only 17? I thought most of us were as old as Fred Flintstone. There's a few ways to go if you are selling. If you don't have any street cred or rating yet, I'd start with BIN. Then dip your toes into auctions with a reasonable reserve. The $1 starting bidding prices get the best bidding action, but you need a reputable reputation and a solid selling history. PM some of these other guys for advice, many are dealers. I'm just a buyer. I've sold exactly ONE coin, and it was to a coin shop in person. They "deserved it". And that's a story for another day.

 

Have you ever done it on like heritage live? I did one time I thought I was going to get a coin cheap. I was high all the way up to bidding time. I was outbid as soon as it opened - so I bid again. Immediately outbid - then another bidder jumped in and those 2 ran the coin up another $100. It paused almost to last call - then I put in a bid (and tapped out) then other two went at it till it was more than I expected. It was fun watching that bidding war.

On ebay you knew they were watching when you went up 1 dollar and just minutes or seconds later you were outbid. We are not even talking last second bids. So then you bid again - and get outbid again. I did this several times for american eagles when you could get MS69's for like 20 to 30 dollars. Back then it was lots of fun.

 

I was going to bid on a nicely toned common Morgan a few weeks ago that was still reasonably priced. It was one of their "eye candy" auctions. I had not completed the sign up process and had forgotten my old log in. I got frustrated and gave up in the process of getting verified.

 

LOL - thats why I use a password program to store them. I only have 1 password to remember. The problem is I will not use it on my phone. So if I need something on my phone I have to look it up in the vault.

 

Sometimes I feel as old as ol' Fred Flinstone. Today, though, I felt really good and took a trip to one of my 2 favorite coin shops.

I'll definitely take the Ebay advice you gave me - sounds like it's really good. I'll likely try advertising on social media as well, possibly Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, or something along that nature.

 

I see stuff being sold on Facebook, there are several coin groups. I will never buy from there though because of all of the scammers. It's as dangerous as Craig's List unless you can see them in person before paying. A buyer really has no protections at all.
