Yes, it is real and really damaged. What makes you think it might be a fake? Just a question, not a critique.

 

Looks like a beat to hell 43-D. Silver value about $1.25.

 

I bought off eBay I heard they making counterfeit ones and making it seem real

The only ones to be worried about would be the 1916D and the 1921 & 1921D, these are the key dates. The others would not make sense to counterfeit or profitable.

 

1926-S is semi key, and the1942/1 42 over 1 P and D are key date varieties.

 

Forgot about the variety. That's also a big one to watch out for.
