    Am I missing something? According to price guide lists, there weren’t any nickels coined in Philadelphia in 1969. And other than war nickels the P wasn’t on either side until 1980.

    Okay, I goofed. I asked AI the wrong question. The mint mark was moved in 1968, but the "P" mint mark was not used until 1980.

    I tell you far more about coins which were minted 200 years ago than the ones which were made last week. It's a matter of what interests you, and moderns are mostly on my backburner.

    There was no 1969-P issued. It is without any doubt 1989-P. Enough of the 8 and the second 9 are visible to confirm this.
