I was following this coin and was surprised by the final result. The colors are very vivid so I see why multiple people liked it. I don't think I've seen another non top pop / non key date proof toned Washington Quarter sell for this much. Has anyone else seen anything close?
My instinct says that coin in hand does not match that great photo. I hope for the sake of the buyer it does, but I'm hand I bet those blues/purples are not as vibrant. I have no doubt it's the same coin, I just feel the saturations and colors are a bit stronger than the coin in hand.
Pass. Exceptional coin but not for everyone to afford. Nice grade and the rest of it is toning if that's your thing.
Wow! I haven't ever followed the values of these, so couldn't tell ya value wise. Beautiful coin though. It has all the right toning progressions if ya ask me.
This common date Washington proof sold for more at a Legend Auction in May 2021. In Sept 2022 the same coin sold at another Legend Auction at a huge loss, selling for $558.13.
That is a good example. I wondered if the population was low but the Legend auction shows 105 at PCGS and their estimate was only $350-$450 with a PCGS guide price of $500. Even if this was the nicest looking DCAM out there, that was quite the premium.
