So I had to get my mom a breakfast burrito this morning.
Got this change, looked at it after they handed it to me.
I thought, gee, that's a weird George Washington on that quarter.
weird writing around it, and the backside was very telling.

Thought briefly of asking for a real quarter but hey it's just 25 cents and I'll throw it in my non-US change jar for Vatican Italian Lira.

    apparently googling ...
Vatican 50 Lira coins featuring "IOANNES PAVLVS II" (Pope John Paul II) are collectible aluminum-bronze, stainless steel, or acmonital coins minted between 1979 and 2001.

Did they make these coins in 3 materials for distribution?
Guess they didn't have vendor food/game machines.

People. Don't order anything with lettuce. There's a big problem here in The States.

I know. I'm here in the states ... in Michigan .. the central locale of the cyclosporiasis.

but a completely different conversation from Italian Lira from the Vatican.

FYI ... their breakfast burritos do NOT have any green leafy stuff.

And I'm a salad eater, each and everyday ... except when this popped up several weeks ago. haven't touched the green leafy stuff since.

But, being Catholic, it's just ironic in SE Michigan to receive a Pope John Paul II, Vatican Italian 50 Lira coin.

Now that opens up something else to collect. Thanks DelTaco for maybe increasing my international money collection.
I have old Italian paper and coin currency from the mid 1980s and before. Nothing slabbed and such and not worth anything due to the euro swap. Just fun collecting back then.
