Change from a vending machine today: 2026-D Mayflower Compact quarter. First quarter from this year I found in circulation; the first one I held in my hand I didn't have to buy from someone! Shouldn't have taken this long, but I'm not complaining... much lol.

Nothing but common Zincolns and quarters, and a 2025 dime, from the self-checkout this evening. On one trip last week, I got a 1976-D nickel and cent, but I'm still waiting for my first 2026 nickel or dime. (I really want some of those dimes - just not enough to order them at a premium. Yet.)

I saw that I got an older series $100 the other day but forgot to take a look at which it was. Finding readers are essential for reading the fine print. But like your bill, the lack of additional color and/or counterfeit deterrents help with detection.

I picked up an old 1934 series $20 in the late 70’s and still have it to this day (paper route pickup). It was old then but even older now. ;-) Worth $21 but I have the memory which is more important.

I also had an older series $100 last week. I spent it. Who knows...could've been the same bill.
