Hello all, Meow is just peeking out from under the couch to share a possible find. As far as Meow recalls, Meow has not ever found an RPM on a wheat cent. Could this be Meows first. And of course, because of some training by @paddyman98 and others Meow knows to look out for the false shelf like doubling. Meow soaked it acetone beforehand, but it still has some green stuff in the crevices. Do you guys' thing it is anything? Meow knows its bad to clean coins too much, but Meow is tempted to toothbrush it.
Not listed by Wexler but if you’re into it for face value, save it. We’ll all be looking for another to match. That would make yours the discovery coin
Meow did look for it at Wexlers too but there is no match. Maybe it is not a RPM but just damage. The 4 looks doubled but Meow is sure that is PMD. It is not as clear as the typical RPM Meow finds. Meow is still temped to toothbrush it to make it clearer.
Maybe a water pic, not a toothbrush. And be careful with the acetone. The fumes are dangerous to breath & flammable. And stay off the catnip
Looks like an RPM to me. Possibly RPM-002 or RPM-010. http://www.varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/RPMs 1954S.htm
TRY variety vista. 1954-S RPMs Might be worth a try. Not sure if there is a value above one cent though.
You have a good eye. And thanks for the lookup help. It is indeed RPM-010. Meow can see a die chip in the right wheat like in the listing.
