I bought myself one of my dream coins for my birthday. As some of you know, I collect Bust Halves - but I've always wanted to get some of the earlier stuff. The flowing hair design has long been one of my favorites. However, finding just the right coin with enough details, good color, problem free, at the right price (all at the same time that I actually had the money for it).... next to impossible.

Finally, this one popped up in a dealers inventory. I jumped on it! I haven't taken pictures of it yet myself, but while researching the variety and value, I saw that it had sold a couple of times on Heritage, so here are some Heritage pictures.

Take a guess at the grade and variety (this is one of the absolute easiest varieties to identify!). Enjoy!

Happy birthday! What an absolutely marvelous coin.

I would guess the grade to be VF30.

Choice VF -- 30 or 35. O-113a. Happy Birthday! They day's not over, though. There's still time to bid on a 1794 in G6 on GreatCollections. ;)

G is too low for me... I need it to be at least F but preferably VF. There have been a couple of 94's sold on Heritage over the last year that would have been a stretch coin, but not crazy.

The 94 half is *nothing* like the 94 dollar...

A over E and I like it at VF35. Fantastic piece! Happy Birthday to you, indeed.

My birthday is this month as well. I don’t think I’ll be getting a present like this one, though!

Congrats on getting a beautiful coin. That's one of those "I wish" coins, for my U.S. type set.

    Happy Birthday.

Happy, Happy Birthday!!! So glad it all came together for you. And, that is a very nice coin. I won't even try to guess a grade, because that would be all it was, a guess. I'm not up on these enough to venture one. I'll just say, that's a very nice Birthday present!
