Hey there, world coin experts! Just looking for some info on the make, model and year of this seemingly arabic scripted coin. Diameter is slightly wider than a U.S. quarter.

Awesome! Big high five to you!
I wouldn’t have bothered to ask but for the look and ping that it could be silver.

How can you tell whether 1912 or 1911?

I'm no expert but if you've ever added a coin with Arabic script to your collection you should figure out a few things about what it shows. I'm just going to focus on the date -- the 4 symbols pointed to by the black arrow are the numerals 1327 and the one pointed to by the green arrow is the regnal year (years since the ruler came into power). There is no regnal year zero so 1327 would be regnal year one, often abbreviated as 1327/1. This coin shows the regnal year 4 which would be 1327/4 which is 1330 (1327 + 4 but minus 1 because the first year is already year one). This is a year in the Islamic calendar noted as AH for Anno Hegirae (Latin for "in the year of the Hijra"). It's a lunar calendar so doesn't line up with the Western Gregorian calendar. AH 1330 maps to December 22, 1911 - December 10, 1912. If I were to record the date so that my coin collection spreadsheet can be sorted by date I would use 1911/12 (although the column format needs to be set to text to make that work properly)
