Had to go se my dealer buddy for some horse trading and this Kentucky token followed me home. I am a sap for anything related to colonial era coinage. It’s pretty dark. Sorry it doesn’t photograph well.

Randy, here’s my Kentucky Token. I bought it raw about 35 years ago and it’s still raw. They were struck in England around 1792 to 1794. The stars have the first letter of the state for the 13 original colonies. They are called Kentucky Tokens because the K is at the top.
    There are a few varieties:
    Plain Edge
    Diagonal Reeding
    Lettered Edge-3 different types

I thought I had seen one of these that you had posted. That was the first thought that went thru my head when I saw it in his case….. Mine has the lettered edge.

These are getting more difficult to find. I’d like to find a nice Franklin Press token. I’ve overspent on my coins because I bought a nice expensive coin. I’ll post once I receive it which is after I make 2 more payments.

    Nice addition, Randy!

I keep looking at the Colonial pieces and will have to add one to my collection eventually, too.
