Question, Copper cents get brown after awhile, I guess. How do some stay RED ? For instance 1910 RD in a PCGS holder. Any early date for that matter.
For me it's something avoid unless it's a very modern item. I got burned years ago on a so-called "Red" large cent from the 1850s. It was NGC certified red. The #1 copper expert told it was among the finest known for the Newcomb variety. Then it started to turn Brown after a few months. I finally dumped it for a loss. If I buy old copper, I want it to look like this.
