Nero Aureus; thoughts on this piece and fair price question

    The legend on the right obverse is somewhat cut-off, but "NERO" is prominently struck.

    I'm not able to comment on its authenticity from a picture, but presuming it is legit... see below for a starting point comparison to help you determine its current value.     Yep, @philologus_1 beat me to it as I was typing. Leu considers it likely to be from the Boscoreale Hoard of 1895 (based on the toning) which naturally would add a hefty premium to the price.

    I have found the ACS fees a bargain in view of the bang-for-the-buck assistance it provides in making buying/selling decisions. Not to mention the helpful image search capability which allowed me to quickly discover the example you posted on prior auctions. (I know there are other options than ACS, but for my needs its great.)

    I agree... small price to pay to have instant access to comps. I'm signing up for the 1 year plan....
