One step closer to set completion, though it needs to be crossed to PCGS or CACG. I prefer nice, lower grade coins for the '79-'90 run of low mintage dates, but I hadn't found a decent looking 1888 until I saw this one.

The negotiation was quite unusual (read from bottom to top). The BIN price was $1750. Their final offer was $50 lower than my final offer of $1550. I was surprised by the lower offer and had to check twice to be sure it was legit because I had never had that happen to me before. How could I not buy it? The eBay seller was TNFC.

This proof is difficult to catch the full color spectrum so the photos don’t do it justice. IMG_2174.jpeg IMG_2176.jpeg

These are acquired in the sense that I finally picked through my collection and sorted things out. I have quite a few duplicate designs, and almost all of them are heavily circulated with significant(at least to my eye) wear. Also the only two made of silver are the two separated at the top, one from 1922 and the other from 1923.

Umm, there were no Morgan dollars struck in 1922 or 1923. The Morgan dollar looks fake, and if it's dated 1922 or 1923, it is fake.

I screwed up my date The Morgan Dollar is 1921, the "Peace" Dollar is 1923. That's not to say the morgan dollar is real, apparently they were faked a lot. The only thing I can say is it passed the magnet test and is not magnetic, but I have no way of weighing it right now and need a jeweller's loop to see if there is a mint mark. Looks perfectly authentic to me. The 1921 Morgan Dollar design is slightly different from all the other years which might be what you're picking up on.
