    Hey everyone,
    Remember when I would do
FIM - Found In Meter (Return tray)
FIC - Found In Coinstar (Return bin)

So I did a walk at lunchtime just to get away from a stressful morning at work and to get some steps in.

The first parking meter I checked had $1.50 in quarters

The second parking meter about 2 blocks away had $3.00 in quarters

Then I went to a cashier on 23rd Street and got these coins in the Coinstar reject tray

And then my last cashier on 30th Street had these in the Coinstar reject tray

I had a great haul of US and foreign coins today!

Nice haul, Edwin! How much is a hot dog at a stand these days in NYC?

Not Edwin though, he's like singing "who's the people in you neighborhood.....". :smug:

You should quit your job and just do a daily circuit to hit all of the meters and coin machines - make good money and get a workout at the same time!

The Wheaties alone would have made my day. Parking Meter? Not sure I understand that part. How are you getting quarters from a parking meter?

    True

And I just got $3.25 from another meter on 26th Street :woot:
They have to insert coins into the meter to pay for the amount of time in that area of the street which is commercial parking only until 6PM. For whatever reason many of the quarters they put end up in the return tray. I really don't know why but I find them and keep them!

I would find coins once and a while in a meter near me but they are all electronic now. Years ago, over a summer, I pulled about 8 bucks worth of coins out of vending machines on the Washington State Ferries.
