1999 p many errors full steps ?

    Those aren't errors. That is die deterioration doubling, or DDD.
    It's a spender in my opinion.

    A full steps designation is only available for MS coins.
    Not proof coins, and not coins in lower condition than MS.
    And, they reworked the dies (I forget the year) and all the modern nickels (or most of them, have full steps). So those don't qualify either.

    It was somewhere in the 80's I believe that 5FS were common, some issues with 6FS were common also. The years and MM were hit and miss. After the westword journey all coins had 6 FS.

    @Kc 17 Your coin has had contact across the steps, For FS the steps cannot have any contact/damage.
