I have many, like most of us collectors do
but if you had 3 coins in your collection that you like the most,
which would they be ? doesn’t have to be the most valuable.

Picking my top three favorites is next to impossible. So, here are three of my top favorites.

This was my first Capped Bust Half Dollar. The seller said they had it in their collection for over 50 years.

A very rare token, we're talking like maybe five known. I was very fortunate to find a Missouri trade token collector with a duplicate he was willing to sell!

Ok, these aren't my highest grade, nor my most expensive, but these are the ones that I'm most pleased to have in my collection.

Certainly not the rarest or most expensive but probably my current favorites:

#1: Silver "penney" of Aethelred II, one of the middle group of Anglo-Saxon kings of "Angleland". My surname is very Anglo-Saxon and I share it with a famous AS king. If I can ever find a good example of Harold II, that will replace this as my favorite coin.

#2: Really love the Oregon Trail commemorative above all other classic commems. This one sang to me at the most recent FUN show.

#3: Really tough choice between two early US silvers so I'll post both. A 1795 half dime and a 1796 dollar.

1795 half eagle. I finally got an example of the Small Eagle on a gold coin!

    1795 Half Eagle All.jpg

1796 No Stars Quarter Eagle. My type set, up until the modern era where the mint has gone crazy, is complete!

    1796 NO St $250 All.jpg

1797 Draped Bust, Small Eagle Dollar. It's not the highest grade, but for the grade, they don't come any more perfect that then this!

The first one has a little brother. The big one is 80mm diameter. The little one is 34mm if I remember correctly.

The details on the little one is just as intricate as the large one, making the die engraving exponentially challenging. I love the ceiling work and the proof like sheen on the windows.

You can see some detail in the face on the bust at the end of the hallway .
